Maarteng Letra and The Krokis Art Fest

2017 has been a great year for the team of Maarteng Letra. It was a year full great discoveries and sharing of passion, not only to ourselves but to a lot of other people as well. 2017 is the year when we united as a team and came up with a lot of ideas to share everything we know little by little. Our little group collaborated with other passion driven brands and artists. As a result, we could proudly say that we ended up growing not just partnerships, but also a family. A family that shares the same goal, to keep on creating to make this world a brighter place to live.

For those who haven’t been updated, here’s are the highlights of the colorful year that was 2017:

First, we started the year with collaborating with Marvy Uchida. Kristine of mariaisquixotic represented herself and our team by creating a mural at EDSA Shangri-La.

Of course, we collaborated with a lot of brands and artists and held Maarteng Letra: The Pen Meet v2.0. The team aimed for this event to be better and bolder. We wanted to create another event wherein not only do the artists get the chance to share about their journey, but also to give our attendees the platform to open up about their vision with arts and crafts. True enough, collaboration, team work, and passion have made everything possible. We could not thank all our partners enough for helping us make this happen.

Lastly, we welcomed the end of the year with happy hearts as we were given the chance by Common Room PH to participate in their 2 month art bazaar, Common Room & Co. Our artworks were displayed for sale together with other aspiring artists with great talents. More importantly, this has been an outlet for everyone to be able to share their craft with each other.

Passing on the passion

As you guys would know by now, we live by the words our mentors have taught us, to always Pass On The Passion. This has been marked in our hearts since 2015. Since then, we’ve always wanted to come up with little ways to make it a point that we still get to do that. Luckily, we were given the chance to do that again this year by Briteday Management. Maarteng Letra is thankful that someone trusts us with our passion and gave us the opportunity to share it with a bigger community this time.

Krokis: An Arts and Crafts Festival

By February, our team, together with Briteday Management will be holding a two-weekend long event called, “Krokis: An Arts and Crafts Festival.” This will be another window for our team to share our passion. More so, we have also collaborated with our artist friends and partner brands to create an event that will give everyone another outlet to discover their love for arts and crafts.

First is an Arts Bazaar held on February 3 and 4 at Ayala Mall South Park, Alabang – Activity Center. There you will see people from different arts and crafts groups showcase their talents and everything that was produced because of it. Drop by to see me, Gjenisa Raquedan, Marilou Patsy, and other artists create a live mural.

Aside from that, ignite your love for arts with products that can be found there. From personalized notebooks, pens, and other art stuff, name it and we probably have it for you.

Second is a series of workshops on February 10 and 11. Everyone will get a chance to attend a 2 hour workshop of their choice.

List of workshops:

Congratulations! I’m happy for you and your team. It’s nice to find collaborators who help us come up with win-win agreements and events. I like collaborations, too. I do this during my events a lot.

We need more events like these, all over the country! I love that we’re having more creative workshops, and I’m hoping more people will be interested in discovering themselves through art. The event seems like it was a huge success! What was the biggest takeaway you had after? Any insights?
